The icy world of Aurora was once the home of an religious sect known simply as 'the Brotherhood'. Exactly what they worshipped was unclear, but some believe they were tasked with a great burden.
The Brotherhood was the first people in the System to discover Cryonite, located deep within Aurora. Cryonite quickly became the dominant currency for trade in the System; due mainly to its scarcity and extreme usefulness in manufacturing highly advanced technology.
It was not long after this that the mantis arrived. They took Aurora with a speed and force never before witnessed by human eyes. The Brotherhood and colonial guards posted there did not have a chance.
